On Thursday, Britain’s Minister for the Middle East Alistair Burt stated that Britain is ready to address US concerns regarding the Iran nuclear deal in order to prevent the deal from being eradicated and reconstructed.

Burt stated, “We and our European partners are absolutely clear. We want the deal to succeed.” Burt stressed that Iran must avoid behavior that threatens to escalate tensions in the region, “We don’t want to see the JCPOA (deal with Iran) go down and are working with our European partners to mitigate concerns the United States may have to ensure it continues.”

Despite the European initiative to save and improve the Iran deal, France and other European countries will continue to push business ties with Tehran. France has maintained a strong business relationship with Iran for several decades.

US President Donald Trump has consistently expressed his desire to rewrite the Iran deal and create a more serious deal to prevent Iran from furthering its nuclear programs. On January 12, Trump stated that he will restore US sanctions unless France, Britain and Germany change the deal to his approval.
