Clinton: “This is a man who has called women pigs, slobs and dogs”

During the heated debate between the two leading US presidential candidates last night, Hillary Clinton mentioned the offensive remarks her Republican rival made in the past about women and accused him of promoting chauvinism. During the first presidential debate, which was held last night (Monday) in New York, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton brought up the comments her Republican rival has made about women in the past and highlighted the influence of his statements on women in the work force. “He called this woman ‘Miss Piggy,’ she said.

“This is a man who has called women pigs, slobs and dogs and someone who has said pregnancy is an inconvenience to employers,” Clinton said. “[He said] women don’t deserve equal pay unless they do as good a job as men.”

Trump interrupted Clinton’s accusations twice by saying: “I never said that,” and “I didn’t say that.” However, Clinton continued: “One of the worst things he said was about a woman in a beauty contest. He loves beauty contests, supporting them and hanging around them. And he called this woman ‘Miss Piggy.’ Then he called her ‘Miss Housekeeping,’ because she was Latina. Donald, she has a name.”

Trump then responded by saying: “I was going to say something… extremely rough to Hillary, to her family, and I said to myself, ‘I can’t do it. I just can’t do it. It’s inappropriate. It’s not nice.’ But she spent hundreds of millions of dollars on negative ads on me, many of which are absolutely untrue. They’re untrue. And they’re misrepresentations.”

Then, Trump turned to Lester Holt, the moderator, and said: “And I will tell you this, Lester, it’s not nice.”
