Trump fails to replace Obamacare in dramatic voteThe US Senate rejected the bill that was meant to replace Obamacare. Three Republican senators, including John McCain, voted against the repeal.
During the night (Friday), the US Senate dropped the bill that was supposed to replace former US President Barack Obama's health reform known as Obamacare.
The replacement of Obamacare did not go through after three Republican senators, John McCain, Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins, voted against the proposal. Over the past several days, senior-level Republican officials worked hard to ensure that the bill would pass.
3 Republicans and 48 Democrats let the American people down. As I said from the beginning, let ObamaCare implode, then deal. Watch!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 28, 2017
51 senators voted against the bill and 49 voted in favor. Other than the three Republicans, all 48 Democrats rejected the repeal. “This is clearly a disappointing moment,” said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Last week, McCain’s office revealed that the Republican nominee in the 2008 presidential election was diagnosed with brain cancer. Despite treatments, the senior Arizona senator returned in time to disappoint Trump.
