Report: Two Egyptian police officers killed in Sinai by ISIS

According to Reuters, two Egyptian police officers were shot and killed by what were most likely ISIS terrorists. The attack occurred in the northern part of the Sinai Peninsula.

Today (Tuesday), according to Reuters news agency, two Egyptian police officers were killed in a shootout with what were mostly likely ISIS terrorists. According to the report, the bodies of the officers were transferred to a military hospital in the city of Arish and an investigation has started.

The attack occurred in the northern part of the Sinai Peninsula, a region where Egypt has been fighting ISIS since 2013, when former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi was removed by current President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

Recently, ISIS has increased its attacks against Coptic Christians. Since December, approximately 100 were murdered by the terrorist group. Dozens of Coptic families have fled their homes in an attempt to get away.

As reported last week by JOL, two Gaza residents were killed in Sinai as they fought alongside ISIS forces.
