Erdogan stressed that international organizations should impose sanctions due to their conduct: “If it continues like this, we will consider how to respond.”
The diplomatic crisis between Turkey and the Netherlands has not calmed down. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan blames the Netherlands for this situation and claimed that the country behaves like a banana republic.
Erdogan spoke in a conference near Istanbul and he called upon international organizations to impose sanctions on the Netherlands due to the present crisis between the two countries. He also criticized the European countries for standing beside the Dutch in their refusal to allow the Turkish Foreign Minister to attend a political conference in their country.

On the other hand, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte warned Turkey that if they continue on this same pathway, the Netherlands will have to consider an appropriate response. In addition, he added that Erdogan should apologize to the Dutch after over the weekend Erdogan called the Dutch “Nazis” and “fascists.”
