EU top court rules to keep Hamas on terrorism blacklist

The court's ruling maintains the asset freezes and travel ban imposed on Hamas members, and prevents it from receiving funds from European NGOs.

The European Union's top court ruled on Wednesday to keep Hamas on the list of terrorist organizations, referring the case back to a lower court.

The court overruled the General Court's 2014 view that the EU had "insufficient evidence" to impose asset freezes and travel bans on Hamas.

This ruling also prevents Hamas from receiving funds from European NGOs.
