Today (Monday), Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation James Comey testified before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI). During the hearing, Comey officially confirmed that the FBI is investigating the possibility of Russian intervention in the 2016 presidential election.

“With respect to the president’s tweets about alleged wiretapping directed at him by the prior administration, I have no information that supports those tweets,” Comey stated during the hearing. He added that no US President has the authority to order such wiretapping without a court order.
