Florida high school students rally for gun control after deadly shootingA week after a gunman killed 17 in a shooting rampage at a Florida high school, hundreds of students marched to Tallahassee to confront Republican lawmakers about gun control.
Hundreds of students who survived last week's shooting at a Florida high school marched on Wednesday to the state's Capitol in Tallahassee to confront lawmakers about gun control.
The rally came a day after Florida lawmakers voted against a ban on semi-automatic rifles like the one used by the shooter at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Protesters, which included students from other schools as well, help up signs calling for gun restrictions and chanted "Never again."
Lawmakers in the heavily-Republican state welcomed the students warmly but provided no specific answers to their demands.
19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, who murdered 17 people in his shooting rampage, was known as a gun enthusiast and has even expressed his desire to kill on social media, but the FBI did not properly address these warning signs.
