Britain, France claim Iran has respected nuclear agreementWith only hours left until US President Donald Trump announces his decision on the nuclear deal, both Britain and France expressed support for maintaining the deal. While France’s defense minister admitted that the deal is not perfect, she stressed that it has addressed some major international concerns.
Britain and France both expressed their support for the Iran nuclear deal today ahead of US President Donald Trump’s announcement about his decision to stay or withdraw from the deal.
British Prime Minister Theresa May’s spokesman said that London’s position remains that the deal should be maintained even though there are issues that it fails to cover. The spokesman told reporters that the 2015 agreement is still “the best way of neutralizing the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran.”
France’s Defense Minister Florence Parly also expressed her support for the deal today, telling RTL radio that while the deal was not perfect, it has suspended the Iranian nuclear military project and the Iranians have maintained their commitments in the deal, according to Reuters.
