France: Man shot dead after fatally stabbing passersby at train station in apparent terror attack

According to reports, two people were fatally stabbed by a man at Marseille’s Saint Charles train station in France. The attacker was shot dead by police. While the investigation into the incident continues, the police believe it was a terror attack.

Two people were murdered and several others were injured after a knife-wielding man stabbed them at Marseille’s Saint Charles train station in France. The attacker was shot dead by soldiers at the scene, according to France’s National Police.

The train station has been shut down and the public has been asked to avoid the area while the investigation into the incident continues. France’s interior minister tweeted shortly after the attack that he is on his way to the scene.

According to a police source, the assailant shouted “Allahu Akbar” before he started to stab the bystanders. In addition, the police believe that this was likely a terror attack.
