After Samsung announced that they stopped manufacturing the Galaxy Note 7 and began a total recall, the US Department of Transportation decided on Saturday that boarding an aircraft with the smartphone will be considered a federal crime. This decision includes all flights from or to the US.

The department stated that any passenger who attempts to board an aircraft with the smartphone will not be allowed to board the flight.

However, the US is not the first to ban the Galaxy Note 7 from planes. Singapore Airlines released an announcement earlier stating that the smartphone has been banned from its flights. Other airline companies are expected to release a similar statement.
