The organizers of Rock am Ring announced on Saturday that the rock festival in Nürburg, Germany is set to resume this afternoon. Yesterday, police evacuated tens of thousands of fans from the venue due to a terrorist threat.

The festival was scheduled to run from Friday through Sunday at the Nürburgring racetrack. However, police received concrete information about a terrorist threat, prompting them to order the thousands of fans to leave the venue immediately. The local police department stated that it had increased security surrounding the festival prior to the terrorist threat in light of the Manchester suicide bombing. A police source stated after the venue was evacuated: “The event was suspended due to concrete information that does not permit us to rule out the possibility of a terror attack.”
