Germany: 3 members of ISIS sleeper cell arrested

The German Federal Police arrested 3 members of an ISIS sleeper cell who are suspected of planning to carry out terror attacks in Europe. According to the German Interior Minister, the three might be connected to the terrorists who carried out the series of attacks in Paris about a year ago.

The German Federal Police arrested 3 young Syrian men who are suspected of being sent by ISIS in order to carry out terror attacks in Europe. The German Interior Minister said today that there is a possibility that the three were part of a sleeper cell that is connected to the terrorists who carried out the series of attacks in Paris about a year ago.

The German Federal Prosecutor’s Office stated that the three were sent to the country last year. It is currently unknown whether the three knew in advance what terror attacks they were sent to carry out. The German Federal Prosecutor’s Office also mentioned that the investigation so far has not led to any evidence indicating a specific terror attack that they were sent to carry out.

The arrest of the three suspects occurred as police officers were raiding several targets early this morning. According to investigators, the three underwent weaponry training before arriving in Europe.
