Today (Monday), German federal authorities raided the homes and work places of two people suspected of planning the kidnapping and murder of left-wing politicians due to their support of immigration in the country.

According to the German federal prosecutor, the suspects stockpiled weapons and ammunition ahead of the planned attack. It is believed that their main motive was Germany’s current immigration policy that they believe is damaging the country.

The raid took place in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in northern Germany. According to the prosecutor’s statement: “The suspects saw the crisis as an opportunity to capture elected officials from the political left and kill them.”

It was also reported that the police will soon raid the homes of others who talked with the suspects online, although they are not suspects. Local security authorities are on very high alert ahead of Germany’s general election on September 24th. According to polls, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the leader of the immigration policy, is expected to win once more.
