US Ambassador to UN complains about emergency meetings regarding Pyongyang on July 4thUS Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley had to spend her July 4th holiday in emergency meetings following the North Korean ICBM test. Haley complained about the situation over Twitter: “Spending my 4th in meetings all day. #ThanksNorthKorea.”
America celebrated its 241st birthday on Tuesday. However, US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley did not get to celebrate with her friends and family as she had planned because of the emergency meetings following North Korea’s latest ballistic missile test.
After her plans were ruined, Haley wrote on Twitter: “Spending my 4th in meetings all day. #ThanksNorthKorea.” The meetings were held because the successful missile test was considered a breakthrough in the North Korean missile program. It was determined that the intercontinental ballistic missile that was tested is capable of reaching Alaska, prompting Haley to call for an emergency closed-door UNSC meeting.
Earlier today, JOL reported that the US and South Korea held a joint military drill during which the armies launched missiles toward the Sea of Japan in response to North Korea’s latest missile test. According to the US Army, the exercise was designed to demonstrate the strong cooperation between Washington and Seoul.
