Haley on 'highly offensive' rumor of affair with Trump: "It is absolutely not true"

"Fire and Fury" author Michael Wolff recently claimed in an interview that US President Donald Trump is having an affair, hinting that the real answer lies in his new book. Readers on social media are saying that Wolff was referring to US Ambassador Nikki Haley, who has vehemently denied the claim. "It is absolutely not true," Haley asserted.

On Friday evening, US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley responded for the first time to a rumor that was spread after the publication of Michael Wolff’s “Fire and Fury” in which he hints towards US President Donald Trump having an affair with Haley. During an interview on Politico’s podcast “Women Rule,” Haley vehemently denied the rumor, calling it “disgusting” and “highly offensive.”

The rumor was provoked by Michael Wolff during an interview with Bill Maher, in which Wolff teased that he is “absolutely sure” that Trump is having an affair behind US First Lady Melania Trump’s back. When asked to elaborate with whom Trump is holding an affair, Wolff noted that a clue as to the mystery woman lies within his book and that the matter is “so incendiary that I just didn’t have the ultimate proof.”

Readers quickly took to the internet, citing one specific line from the book in which Trump is described as having spent “a notable amount of private time with Haley on Air Force One.” From there, the rumor spread like a wild fire on social media.

“It is absolutely not true,” Haley told Politico. “I have literally been on Air Force One once and there were several people in the room when I was there,” she said. “He says that I’ve been talking a lot with the president in the Oval about my political future. I’ve never talked once to the president about my future and I am never alone with him.”

“But it goes to a bigger issue that we need to always be conscious of,” Haley continued. “At every point in my life, I’ve noticed that if you speak your mind and you're strong about it and you say what you believe, there is a small percentage of people that resent that and the way they deal with it is to try and throw arrows – lies or not – to diminish you.”
