Denounced by his own party, neo-Nazi and Holocaust denier Arthur Jones is now the Republican congressional nominee of Chicago’s suburban district after he ran in the primary on Tuesday unopposed. Jones, a retired insurance agent, heads a group called America First Committee whose membership is limited, he said, “to any white American citizen of European, non-Jewish descent.”

“I do not belong to any National Socialist organizations anymore and I haven’t belonged to one since about 1990, ok?” the 70-year-old candidate told a CNN newscaster after she accused him of being a neo-Nazi. “There’s nothing on that website that’s not true.”

Jones referred to his notorious campaign website, in which he does not hide his white supremacist views. In a section titled “The ‘Holocaust’ Racket” on the website, Jones accused Jewish people of being “thirsty criminal vampires,” and detailed various conspiracies concerning the State of Israel and the Jewish people. Among the other views detailed on the website, Jones said he is against the “Homosexual Agenda” and does not believe in the term “hate speech.”

As previously reported by JOL, Jones had unsuccessfully run for several offices in the Chicago area since the 1970s. “Jones, a long-time neo-Nazi, has repeatedly run for elected office, always unsuccessfully,” the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) previously said of the candidate. “He has been active in several political parties throughout the last few decades, including the conspiratorial and anti-Semitic Populist Party, the National Socialist White People's Party and, briefly, the American Nazi Party.”
