Millions disconnected from electricity in Florida, Georgia

Although Hurricane Irma has lost its strength and is now considered a tropical storm, approximately 6.2 million people are disconnected from electricity in Florida and Georgia.

Although Hurricane Irma has significantly lost its strength and is now considered a tropical storm, approximately 6 million homes and businesses across Florida and 200 thousand across Georgia have been left without electricity.

Warnings against tropical storms have been reported in eastern Alabama and along the South Carolina coastline. At least 3 people have lost their lives in Florida after a third of the state’s population has been ordered to evacuate.

Meanwhile, reports in the US are estimating that the emergency budget for handling the damages caused by Hurricane Harvey and Irma will stand at approximately 290 billion dollars and will take a very long time.
