Iran's President Rouhani says Trump will not fulfil his promise to reverse nuclear deal

"The historic agreement with world powers cannot be undone by a single government," Rouhani said, attempting to lessen his country's concern over the US president-elect's campaign pronouncements.

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday he is certain that the new US administration will stay committed to the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers despite president-elect Donald Trump's pronouncements during his campaign that he would undo it.

In an interview to Iranian television, Rouhani claimed that Washington's international status has been weakened lately "due to its recent policies," adding that the election results "indicate that its instability will continue for a long time."

Earlier, Mexico's Foreign Minister Claudia Ruiz Massieu also dismissed Trump's campaign promises and said Mexico has no plan to pay for a wall along its border with the US. "This isn't part of our vision," she stated.
