Jewish cemetery vandalized in PhiladelphiaAnother Jewish cemetery in America has been vandalized in what appears to be a possible rise in anti-Semitic acts.
Dozens of headstones were damaged today (Sunday) at a Jewish cemetery in Philadelphia. Local police are currently investigating the act and have not yet determined whether it was vandalism or a hate crime. “It’s just very disheartening,” a man who came to visit the grave of his late father told local news outlets.
He stated that he hoped it was simply a group of drunk kids and wasn’t an act of anti-Semitism. However, he explained there have been many similar acts across the United States recently and that he feels that this points to a bigger statement. He couldn’t understand why someone would want to commit such an act.

Last week, over 150 headstones were damaged at a Missouri Jewish cemetery. The incident also required further investigation before it was declared an anti-Semitic attack. In an act of solidarity, a group of Muslim Americans offered a reward of $5,000 to anyone who provides information leading to the perpetrators’ arrest.
Following US President Donald Trump’s statement that he is “the least anti-Semitic, racist person you’ve ever seen,” numerous anti-Semitic acts were reported across the United States.
The Anti-Defamation League greatly encouraged US politicians to stand up against these threats and further investigate the incidents reported.
