London police arrest man carrying knives near British parliament

A man carrying at least two knives was arrested in London near the British parliament building. It is believed that he was planning to carry out a terror attack.

A man was arrested on Thursday by British police on Whitehall near the private homes of British Prime Minister Theresa May and several British ministers. According to reports, the suspect was carrying at least two knives. One of the knives was described as a large bread knife. The incident ended without any injuries. The local police department has launched an investigation.

A spokesperson for May said that the British prime minister was not at her home during the incident. All of the adjacent streets have been blocked off by police.

Eye-witnesses said that they saw security forces arresting a man who was wearing black. The local police department said that the suspect was arrested as part of a stop and search operation.

About a month ago, four people were murdered and about 20 more were injured when a terrorist plowed an SUV into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge. When he arrived at the entrance to the British parliament building, he exited his SUV and stabbed a police officer to death.
