New threat: North Korea tested missile capable of carrying heavy nuclear warhead, reaching USA day after the latest ballistic missile test carried out by Pyongyang, a North Korean news agency reported that the missile that was tested can carry a heavy nuclear warhead and reach the U.S. mainland. Pyongyang announced early this morning (Monday) that the successful missile test it carried out on Sunday was aimed at verifying the missile’s ability to carry a heavy nuclear warhead, according to North Korea’s KCNA news agency. According to the report, the missile was a new type of long-range ballistic missile.
The North Korean news agency also reported that Kim Jong-un supervised the test of the Hwasong-12 strategic ballistic rocket, which reached an altitude of 2,111.5 kilometers and flew 787 kilometers before in landed it the Sea of Japan not far from Russia.
In an official statement, North Korea warned the U.S. against reckless provocations because the U.S. mainland and America’s allies in the region are within the missile’s range.
