Over the past several days, the US has sent the giant aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson to the Korean region, following recent missile and launcher tests conducted by North Korea.

North Korean officials stated that the US decision justifies Pyongyang's "self-defensive and pre-emptive strike capabilities with the nuclear force at the core." A Foreign Ministry official stated that North Korea “is ready to react to any mode of war desired by the US.”

“We will make the US fully accountable for the catastrophic consequences that may be brought about by its high-handed and outrageous acts," the statement added. Today (Tuesday), North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is expected to participate in the country’s Supreme People’s Assembly and might refer to the tensions.
