North Korea says it will suspend its nuclear, missile testsAhead of the first inter-Korean meeting in over a decade, North Korea has stated that it will suspend its nuclear and missile tests.
North Korea says it will no longer conduct nuclear and missile tests and will instead work to promote peace in the Korean Peninsula.
The state-run media published a statement by the country's leader, Kim Jong-Un, claiming that such tests are no longer necessary because North Korea has completed the development of its nuclear capabilities.
This announcement comes a day before Kim is scheduled to meet with his South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in to discuss the nuclear threat and other issues.
In a tweet, US President Donald Trump called the announcement "very good news for North Korea and the world."
