American television star Oprah Winfrey has put an end to the rumors of her possible 2020 presidential run, saying she doesn't have "the DNA for it."

Rumors that Winfrey was planning to run for the White House circulated after her powerful speech at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony and were fueled by several of her close friends, who claimed she was "actively thinking" about it.

"I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not," Winfrey recently told In Style magazine. "And so it’s not something that interests me. I don’t have the DNA for it."

Two weeks ago, as the rumors were at a peak, US President Donald Trump, himself a former reality television star, told reporters he would beat Winfrey if she chosen to run.
