According to testimonies from soldiers in the area, terrorist Ziyed Ben Belgacem tried to seize a weapon that belonged to a female soldier, pointed the weapon at her head and shouted: “Lay down your weapon and put your hands on your head. I am here to die for Allah in any incident. There will be dead here.” French Prosecutor Francois Molins stated that in light of the selection of the target and signals testifying to the extremist religious views of the terrorist, there is justification to investigate the incident as an attempted terror attack.

As reported earlier on JOL, the attempted terror attack took place in the Orly Airport in Paris. The terrorist was eliminated by French Security Forces. The Orly Airport was evacuated and flights were directed to other airports in Paris. Initially, it was suspected that Israelis were the target but the Israeli Foreign Ministry clarified that the Israeli check-in counter is relatively distant from the scene of the incident.
