Keynote speaker at 2018 AIPAC Policy Conference: US Vice President PenceOn Monday, AIPAC announced that US Vice President Mike Pence will be the keynote speaker at this year’s policy conference. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley are also scheduled to address the pro-Israel audience in Washington, DC.
US Vice President Mike Pence will deliver the keynote address at this year’s AIPAC Policy Conference. The conference is slated for March 4-6 in Washington, DC.
Last month, Pence visited Israel and delivered a speech at the Knesset. During his speech, Pence called Israel a “vibrant democracy” and promised that the American embassy will be moved to Jerusalem by the end of 2019. While in Israel, he also visited Yad Vashem and the Western Wall.
Before leaving Israel, Pence told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: “I leave here with confidence that with [US] President [Donald] Trump in the White House and with your strong leadership here in Israel, the best days for the United States and our most cherished ally, Israel, are yet to come.”
Netanyahu is set to speak at the 2018 AIPAC Policy Conference as well. While in Washington, Netanyahu will also meet with Trump. According to the White House, the meeting will take place on March 5.
US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley will also address the audience at the conference. Haley spoke at the 2017 conference and received several rounds of applause for slamming the UN for anti-Israel bias. “The days of Israel-bashing are over,” she said last year. “I wear heels, it's not for a fashion statement, it's because if I see something wrong we're gonna kick 'em every time.”
