Pentagon: “Active preparations” for chemical attack in SyriaAccording to the Pentagon, there are “active preparations” at the Syrian airbase from which the last chemical attack was fired. The report follows a White House warning against another chemical attack, for which Assad would “pay a heavy price.”
Today (Tuesday), the Pentagon reported “active preparations” involving aircraft at the Shayrat Airbase from which the last chemical attack in Syria took place. This, following the White House report that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is preparing for an additional chemical weapons attack. The White House warned that Assad and his military will “pay a heavy price” if they do in fact carry out an attack.
“We are letting the statement speak for itself,” said spokesman for the White House’s National Security Council Marc Raimondi. US Ambassador to the UN also responded.
Any further attacks done to the people of Syria will be blamed on Assad, but also on Russia & Iran who support him killing his own people.— Nikki Haley (@nikkihaley) June 27, 2017
