Philippines: Reported casualties in ISIS attack at tourist site

According to hotel employees, a masked gunman fired at several guests from the second floor. President Rodrigo Duterte declared martial law over the island of Mindanao last week in light of an ISIS threat.

Police forces in the Philippines are surrounding a popular tourist site after armed ISIS members reportedly opened fire there on Thursday.

The Resorts World Manila complex has an array of hotels, restaurants and bars. According to a CNN report, a masked gunman was on the second floor of a hotel, firing at guests.

This incident comes a week after Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte declared martial law over the island of Mindanao in light of an ISIS attempt to take over the city of Marawi.
