Iranian official: “we will level Tel Aviv to the ground”
Poland's opposition proposes amendment to controversial Holocaust billThe Polish Civic Platform (PO) party, the largest party in the opposition, has proposed an amendment to the Holocaust bill, which has triggered a diplomatic crisis with Israel.
Poland's largest opposition party, the Civic Platform (PO), has issued an amendment to the controversial bill that criminalizes statements regarding Poland's part in the Holocaust.
The party suggested to rephrase a passage calling to imprison "anyone who, publicly and against the facts, attributes to Poland responsibility or co-responsibility" for crimes committed by the Nazi regime during the Holocaust, and to anyone who uses the term "Polish death camps."
Party leader Grzegorz Schetyna slammed the Polish government for the "clumsy" manner in which it presented the bill, blaming it for the diplomatic crisis it has triggered.
According to AFP, the opposition's proposal has no real chance of being adopted, since the right-wing ruling party, Law and Justice (PiS), controls both houses of parliament.
