The secretary of one of Pope Francis’ senior advisers was arrested recently after Vatican police officers raided an apartment owned by the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. During the raid, the officers found drugs and men who were participating in a homosexual orgy.

According to the reports in Italy, the man who was arrested is Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio’s secretary. Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio is the head of the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts. The cardinal’s aide lived in the apartment, which was raided after neighbors reported noticing many people constantly entering and leaving the apartment and other strange behavior.

One newspaper reported that Pope Francis was “enraged” about the incident and sent his adviser to a rehab clinic for drug users in Italy. The embarrassing report comes amid another scandal linked to the Vatican. Last week, an indictment was filed against Cardinal George Pell, the Vatican treasurer and third most important figure in the Catholic Church, for allegedly sexually abusing children in Australia.
