Trump: ‘There is a chance of major conflict with North Korea’
Investigation reveals Flynn accepted money from Russian sourcesA congressional probe into US President Donald Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn revealed that he had been previously warned by the Pentagon about foreign payments three years ago.
US President Donald Trump’s former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn was warned by the Pentagon in 2014 about accepting payments from foreign sources, according to documents released by the US House Oversight Committee. Yesterday (Thursday), an investigative probe launched last month against Flynn about his ties to Russian officials, was also announced to the public.
"These documents raise grave questions about why General Flynn concealed the payments he received from foreign sources after he was warned explicitly by the Pentagon," said US Congressman Elijah Cummings, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee. "Our next step is to get the documents we are seeking from the White House so we can complete our investigation. I thank the Department of Defense for providing us with unclassified versions of these documents."
Flynn allegedly hid the fact that he received payments from the Russian propagandist television network RT-TV.
As reported by JOL in February, Flynn resigned as the national security adviser after it was discovered that he had been in contact with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak about US sanctions on Russia. The probe against Flynn is just one of several investigations into Russia's intervention in the US presidential campaign.
