Putin says last night’s St Petersburg blast was terrorism

After at least 10 people were injured when an explosive device detonated in St Petersburg, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the blast was a terrorist act. The explosion occurred on Wednesday evening at a supermarket.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said today (Thursday) that the blast at a supermarket in St Petersburg last night was a terrorist act. Some 10 people were injured in the explosion.

According to reports, one of the victims was severely injured. The blast occurred when an improvised explosive device was detonated. It is suspected that the device was placed in one of the store’s storage units.

Earlier this year, an explosive device was detonated on a metro train in St Petersburg. Over a dozen people were murdered in the terrorist attack.
