Reports: Shots fired near Capitol Hill, suspect arrested

According to US media outlets, police opened fire in Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C., after a driver attempted to run them over. Yesterday, a suspicious package was found in the area of the White House and visitors were evacuated for a short period of time.

Today (Wednesday), an unknown female was arrested in Washington for attempting to run over police officers near Capitol Hill. According to US media outlets, the incident occurred near the Botanic Garden and the woman was taken for questioning.

Local police stated that the vehicle hit a police car and then tried to run over police officers. Police arrested the suspect. No injuries were reported. The circumstances of the event are being examined.
