A Republican Party headquarters was vandalized with graffiti and severely damaged by a flammable material thrown through the front window last night (Sunday). No one was injured but the damage to the building was substantial.

On the back of an adjacent building, the message "Nazi Republicans leave town or else" was sprayed on the wall with spray paint along with a swastika. Dallas Woodhouse, Executive Director of the North Carolina Republican Party called the attack "political terrorism." Woodhouse stated it was pure luck no one was hurt as during the election season, there are usually people in the office through the late hours.

Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, tweeted that "animals representing Hillary Clinton and the Dems" attacked the office because "we are winning." Later, he added that none of the party members were injured thankfully. Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton tweeted a message, calling the incident "horrific and unacceptable."

Hillsborough Mayor Tom Stevens spoke out strongly against the incident: "This highly disturbing act goes far beyond vandalizing property; it willfully threatens our community’s safety via fire, and its hateful message undermines decency, respect and integrity in civic participation."
