Today (Wednesday), Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov warned the US not to increase sanctions against North Korea. In a phone call with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Lavrov warned that such a move would be dangerous and might even have the opposite effect.

In addition, Lavrov advised against any military actions, despite the missile launched over Japan. According to him, such actions could have unexpected consequences. Earlier today, the US conducted a successful test intercepting a medium-range ballistic missile over Hawaii.

US military officials stated that the test was planned a long time ago and had nothing to do with North Korea. “We will continue developing ballistic missile-defense technologies to stay ahead of the threat as it evolves,” a senior-level official said.

As reported earlier today, US President Donald Trump rejected the possibility of diplomatic talks with North Korea.
