Putin claims to have transcript of Trump-Lavrov conversation
Tillerson says he would have no way of knowing if Russia bugged Oval OfficeDuring a press conference in Washington, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was asked about the possibility that the Russians bugged the Oval Office. In response, he said he would have no way of knowing whether they bugged the office or not.
U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson responded on Wednesday to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s offer to give Congress the transcript of the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
When Tillerson was asked by a reporter about the possibility that the Russians placed surveillance tools in the Oval Office, he said: “I would have no way to know that.”
Earlier today, JOL News reported that Putin said he would be willing to provide Congress with the transcript of the meeting. He said that the transcript shows that Trump did not discuss top secret information with the Russian officials.
