Trump spoke with Abbas, invited him to White House

U.S. President Donald Trump invited Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to the White House, according to a spokesperson for the Palestinian Authority. Trump extended the invitation to Abbas during his first phone conversation with the Palestinian leader since he entered the White House.

U.S. President Donald Trump spoke this evening (Friday) with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas for the first time since he entered the White House. According to PA spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeina, Trump invited Abbas to the White House.

Abu Rudeina added that the meeting between Abbas and Trump will take place soon. Next week, Trump will send a special envoy to the region in order to establish the framework for renewed peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.
