After North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s rare speech in which he warned that the US will pay for threatening his country, US President Donald Trump responded. On Friday, Trump took to Twitter, writing that Kim “will be tested like never before!”

“Kim Jong Un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn't mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before!” the US president wrote. In his speech last night, Kim claimed that Trump’s UN General Assembly address was the “most ferocious declaration of war in history.”

“His remarks which described the US option through straightforward expression of his will have convinced me, rather than frightening or stopping me, that the path I chose is correct and that it is the one I have to follow to the last,” he added. Kim also called the US president a “mentally deranged US dotard.”

“As a man representing the DPRK and on behalf of the dignity and honor of my state and people and on my own, I will make the man holding the prerogative of the supreme command in the US pay dearly for his speech,” Kim said as he concluded his statement. North Korea’s Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho spoke to reporters shortly after his leader’s speech, saying that Pyongyang’s response would likely include another hydrogen bomb test over the Pacific.

“The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea,” Trump said in his UN address. “Rocket Man [Kim] is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime.”
