North Korea confirms testing hydrogen bomb
Trump: North Korea’s actions ‘hostile and dangerous’ to USUS President Donald Trump responded severely to North Korea’s hydrogen bomb test, declaring: “Their words and actions continue to be very hostile and dangerous to the United States.” Trump emphasized that talks and a conciliatory approach won’t work: “They only understand one thing!”
Today (Sunday), mere hours after North Korea’s hydrogen bomb test, US President Donald Trump responded on Twitter. “North Korea has conducted a major nuclear test. Their words and actions continue to be very hostile and dangerous to the United States,” Trump wrote.
“North Korea is a rogue nation which has become a great threat and embarrassment to China, which is trying to help but with little success,” Trump added. He also proclaimed that “they only understand one thing!” – most likely referring to military force. “South Korea is finding, as I have told them, that their talk of appeasement with North Korea will not work.”
Last night, Trump spoke over the phone with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe following the threatening reports out of North Korea. The two concurred that pressure on the isolated country must be increased. Furthermore, Abe agreed with Trump that cooperation between their two countries is essential as the North Korean threat intensifies.
