Twitter employee shut down Trump’s accountLast night, US President Donald Trump’s Twitter account disappeared for 11 minutes. At first, Twitter blamed a ‘human error’, but then clarified that an employee on his last day did it on purpose.
Last night (Thursday), US President Donald Trump’s Twitter account was closed for a duration of 11 minutes. During that time, anyone who would go to his Twitter page would see the following message: “Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!”
“(Trump’s) account was inadvertently deactivated due to human error by a Twitter employee,” the company quickly responded. “The account was down for 11 minutes, and has since been restored. We are continuing to investigate and are taking steps to prevent this from happening again.”
Shortly after, the company published another statement: “Through our investigation we have learned that this was done by a Twitter customer support employee who did this on the employee’s last day. We are conducting a full internal review.”
Trump began using the social media platform in 2009. Since then, he has tweeted over 36,000 times and has 41.7 million followers. His account is the 21st most popular on Twitter. As reported by JOL several weeks ago, Trump praised Twitter and admitted that he might not have become president without it.
