US: Fear of al-Qaeda terror attack before election

CBS News reported that American intelligence sources are afraid that al-Qaeda is planning a terror attack in three possible locations on Monday, the day before the presidential election.

According to reports, American intelligence received information that the possible targets of the attack could be New York, Texas and Virginia. According to the sources, the information is being examined and has yet to be officially confirmed.

“The FBI, working with our federal, state and local counterparts, shares and assesses intelligence on a daily basis and will continue to work closely with law enforcement and intelligence community partners to identify and disrupt any potential threat to public safety,” a senior level FBI official told CBS News.
