Today (Friday), during the G7 summit in Italy, US President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe agreed to expand sanctions on North Korea due to the latter’s increased nuclear and ballistic missile experiments.

“President Trump and Prime Minister Abe agreed their teams would cooperate to enhance sanctions on North Korea,” the White House stated. “Including by identifying and sanctioning entities that support North Korea's ballistic missile and nuclear programs.”

Several weeks ago, Pyongyang announced that it carried out a successful missile test that was aimed at verifying the missile’s ability to carry a heavy nuclear warhead. Trump stated that he will prevent Pyongyang from developing a nuclear weapon.
