The Afghan defense minister stated on Friday morning that 36 ISIS terrorists were eliminated in the U.S. attack yesterday. During the attack, the U.S. Air Force dropped the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB) bomb, dubbed the Mother of all Bombs, on ISIS targets in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar Province.

“Civilians were not injured in the attack and only the base that ISIS terrorists were using was harmed,” stated the minister, who added that the base contained a tunnel network that the terrorists used to carry out terror attacks in Kabul.

The GBU-43/B MOAB is America’s most powerful non-nuclear bomb and it is the second most powerful MOAB in the world. This is the first time that this MOAB has been used in an operation. “The GBU-43 is a large, powerful and accurately delivered weapon,” stated White House press secretary Sean Spicer during a briefing on Thursday. “We targeted a system of tunnels and caves that ISIS fighters used to move around freely, making it easier for them to target U.S. military advisors and Afghan forces in the area.”
