The US government took full responsibility for the Manchester terror attack investigation leaks.  “We take full responsibility for that,” stated US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson during a joint press conference with his British counterpart Boris Johnson. “We regret that that happened.”

“With respect to the release of information inappropriately…Certainly we condemn that,” Tillerson added. “This special relationship that exists between our two countries will certainly withstand this particular unfortunate event.”

For several hours, British authorities stopped sharing intelligence information about the attack with the US after sensitive crime scene photographs were leaked and published by an American news outlet.

After British Prime Minister Theresa May confronted US President Donald Trump about the leaks, Trump said that he will ask the Department of Justice to investigate the intelligence leaks. “There is no relationship we cherish more than the special relationship between the US and the UK,” he added.
