Wolfram and Anita, an elderly Canadian couple, were forced to separate in August when each was sent to a different nursing home. Their family feared that Wolfram’s memory of Anita would fade due to dementia, so they did all they could to speed up the process in order to reunite the two.

During the time spent apart, family members had to drive 40 minutes in order to allow Wolfram and Anita to see each other. Each reunion ended in tears.

“Thursday our family joyfully witnessed the reunification of Wolfram and Anita Gottschalk.” Ashley, their granddaughter, posted on Facebook yesterday. “Wolfram has finally been moved to the same facility as Anita at the residence at Morgan Heights. The reunion saw tears of joy for all involved. They can now be under the same roof for their remaining years, and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
