Watch: Police body camera footage of Mandalay Bay shooting
As the investigation into the deadly Las Vegas shooting attack continues, police investigators hope to gain some insight into the motives of the shooter, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, from his girlfriend Marilou Danley, who was in the Philippines at the time of the attack.
Danley landed yesterday in LA after speaking with FBI agents and is now being questioned. She reportedly intends to clear her name and so far appears to have no connection to the deadly incident.
Meanwhile, Las Vegas police issued new footage taken by police body cameras showing the first response of the security forces in the area as the shooting took place. The footage shows their attempt to help terrified bystanders who were fleeing the scene.
As previously reported by JOL, the attack has been declared as the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history, with the death toll currently standing at 59 and hundreds of people wounded. The US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) revealed that Paddock used a device turning semi-automatic assault rifles into fully automatic ones. Paddock reportedly installed it on 12 firearms. In addition, he reportedly had in his possession at least 47 firearms, which the police found in three different locations including his home and the hotel room from where the shooting took place.
