According to Paltrow, Weinstein invited her to his hotel suite when she was 22 and freshly hired for the leading role in the movie “Emma”. The actress said that during the meeting, he placed a hand on her and suggested that they move into the bedroom for massages. “I was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified,” she said in an interview. “I thought he was going to fire me.”
Paltrow refused and told her boyfriend at the time Brad Pitt, who confronted the producer. Later, she received a call from Weinstein, who even “screamed” at her for discussing the incident. Angelina Jolie had a similar experience. “I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, chose never to work with him again and warn others when they did,” Jolie wrote in an email. “This behavior towards women in any field, any country is unacceptable.”
