One of the last promises made by US President-elect Donald Trump during his campaign was to jail his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton. Last evening (Wednesday), White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said that incumbent US President Barack Obama expressed hopes that the US tradition of people in power not utilizing the criminal justice system against their opponents will continue.

“We’ve got a long tradition in this country of people in power not using the criminal justice system to exact political revenge. The president is hopeful that it will continue,” said Earnest.

Several steps were taken today around the globe and a number of statements were made that arose from the fear that the US President-elect will actually bring his campaign promises to realization.
