Just hours after Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential elections, several of the president-elect's closest supporters are being considered for senior positions in his cabinet, US media has reported.

Among those who might be invited to join Trump's administration are former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Another possible cabinet member, according to US sources, is former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who was John McCain's running mate in the 2008 election.

It has also been reported that Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr., may be appointed as Interior Secretary.

With regard to Israel, Trump's close advisor David Friedman may become the next US ambassador to Israel, while his chief lawyer Jason Greenblatt, an Orthodox Jew, may serve as the US special envoy to the Middle East peace process.
